What We Believe
Valley stands in the tradition of historic Christianity—rooted in Scripture, informed by tradition, shaped by reason, and lived in community. We affirm the great creeds while maintaining evangelical convictions.
Historic Christianity
Our biblical position seeks to be faithfully rooted in Scripture while honoring the wisdom of the historic church.
Grounded in Scripture, guided by the Spirit, shaped by truth, and lived in community.
Our Core Convictions
These fundamental beliefs shape how we understand God, humanity, salvation, and the Christian life.
Complementarian Design
God created men and women as equal in dignity but distinct in roles. This complementarian design reflects God’s glory in marriage, family, and church leadership, where qualified men bear the responsibility of eldership.
God's Sovereignty and Human Freedom
We affirm the absolute sovereignty of God working through genuine human freedom. God’s eternal decree does not negate human responsibility, but establishes it within His perfect plan.
Authority and Sufficiency of Scripture
The Bible is God’s inspired, inerrant, and sufficient Word for all matters of faith and practice. Scripture alone is our ultimate authority, while we honor the wisdom of historic Christian tradition.
The Triune God
God exists as one essence in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each person is fully God, co-equal and co-eternal, yet distinct in their roles within the Godhead.
Present Reign of Christ
Jesus Christ is King now over all spheres of life—spiritual, cultural, and political. His Kingdom is both already inaugurated and not yet consummated, calling disciples to live under His Lordship in every area.
Salvation by Grace Alone
Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. Sinners are justified by God’s grace, not by works, and are progressively sanctified by the Spirit’s power throughout life.
Historic Creeds
Valley affirms the great creeds of historic Christianity as faithful summaries of biblical truth developed by the church through the centuries.
Apostles' Creed
The earliest summary of Christian faith, affirming the essential truths of the Trinity, incarnation, atonement, and resurrection.
Foundational statement of Christian orthodoxy from the early church.
Nicene Creed
Developed at the Council of Nicaea (325 AD), defining the full divinity of Christ and establishing Trinitarian doctrine.
Cornerstone defense against Arianism and other early heresies.
Athanasian Creed
Comprehensive statement on the Trinity and the two natures of Christ, providing detailed theological precision.
Advanced articulation of orthodox Christology and Trinitarian doctrine.
Progressive Covenant Hermeneutic
Valley interprets Scripture through a progressive covenantal lens, seeing God’s unified plan of redemption unfolding through His covenants with humanity.

Unity of Scripture
The Old and New Testaments form one unified revelation of God's redemptive plan centered in Christ.

Covenant Progression
God's covenants build upon each other, revealing more of His character and purposes through history.

How Beliefs Shape Life
Our theological convictions aren’t merely academic—they shape how we live, disciple others, and engage the world.
Worship & Devotion
Our high view of God compels reverent worship that combines liturgical beauty with heartfelt devotion, avoiding both formalism and emotionalism.
Community & Discipleship
Covenant theology shapes our commitment to deep, lasting relationships and serious discipleship that forms character, not just knowledge.
Cultural Engagement
Christ’s present reign calls us to engage every sphere of culture as salt and light, not separating sacred from secular but bringing Kingdom values everywhere.
Theology Matters
“To know God is to love God.”
At Valley, we believe ideas have consequences and theology shapes life. Join us in pursuing both theological depth and practical faithfulness as we follow Christ together.
